Description

Our April Secret and Surprise tasting case contains these unusual and different wines from

Roussette de Savoie, Cru Frangy (France) from the Jura / Savoie region of France: The flavours are reminiscent of pear, gingerbread, spice and honey
Volubilia Gris, Domaine de la Zouina (Morocco) – a wine from Morocco? Yes!  A blend of Caladoc, Mourvedre, Marselan grapes, this wine has a pale colour and a very  fresh, aromatic smell, and  delicate, ripe peach and floral note yet crisp palate, even acidity and an attractive minerality.
Marcillac ‘Lo Sang del Pais’ (France)- another great French wine: supple fruit-driven with juicy raspberry flavours underpinned by slate and gravel notes and the sanguine bite that confirms its name as “the blood of the country”.
Txakoli de Getaria (Spain); a white wine from vineyards overlooking the Bay of Biscay in Basque country. Pale green, faint aromas of green apples and plums, very light bright, sharp and salty with biting acidity and a savoury saltiness as well as the classic Txakoli “spritz”.
Tremendus Rioja Rosato (Spain) : a bone dry and fresh wine with subtle red fruit flavours and a pleasant creaminess from lees ageing.
Tradition Listan Negro (Canary Islands, Spain) a vivid ruby-red. Spicy redcurrant and cherry scents are complicated by dried rose and blood orange.
