The Cave de Pomérols was founded in 1932 and has since then has steadily grown and prospered. It has seen a great deal of modernisation since then. This Cave Cooperative is located in the top commune of Pomerols, located between the garrigue of Pezenas and the sea dominated by the Mont St Clair in Sete.
Following the merging with the Cave of Castelnau de Guers in 2003 and the Cave of Mèze in 2007, the subsequently extended vineyards of the Vins de la Famille de Beauvignac (Wines of the Beauvignac Family) are spread over 1800 hectares, 400 of which are classified AOP Picpoul de Pinet.
At present the Costières de Pomérols contract around 350 winegrowers who all have the knowledge and experience to produce 120,000 hectolitres on average. For the past several years the harvests produced on average: 57% white, 21% rosé and 22% red.
Our wines are classified half in IGP Pays d’OC (Indication Geographique Protégée) and 20% in AOP (Appellation Origine Protégée) Picpoul de Pinet; the remainder being in IGP Côtes de Thau (mainly rosé).
