Vina Tobia, Rosado, DO Rioja

Variety: 100% Garnacha

Vintage: 2014

Region: Rioja DOCa, Spain

Vineyard and Viticulture:

100% Garnacha, from two vineyards located in Rioja Alta, with a low productivity and Atlantic character marked due its altitude (570 and 600 m) and its orientation (north-west). They are situated in cool areas of maturation. Soil: gravelly clay. Harvest was on 7th and 15th October.

The grapes were de-stemmed without crushing before a soft and short cold maceration. Only free-run juice is then slowly fermented in stainless steel, temperature controlled tanks. To obtain the light colour of this wine, Bodegas Tobía use a lhigher proportion of grapes per litre of wine produced in order to retain the classic aromatics & intense flavours of Garnacha.

Tasting Notes:

Pale salmon pink. Intense aromas of red fruits like strawberries and citrus fruits such as grapefruit above an elegant floral aromas (roses and orange blossom) and peppermint and eucalyptus. In the mouth it’s soft, balanced and fresh. Friendly and sweet at the beginning. Its excellent acidity makes it very refreshing. Perfumed aftertaste of raspberries and white flowers.

Serving Suggestion:
