Vineyard and Viticulture:
The vineyards are on average 10 years old
Integrated pest control and a sustainable viticultural approach is used. Grapes are hand harvested
The grapes are de-stemmed, chilled, pressed and cold settled, then fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel vats for twenty days at 13°C.
The wine is kept on the fine lees for three months to give structure and texture. It is then cold stabilised and bottled. The wine does not undergo malolactic fermentation.
Colour: Brilliant pale straw with green hues..
Aroma: Vibrant, grassy aroma with tropical and citric fruit notes of lime and grapefruit.
Palate: Fresh, elegant, intense fruit on the palate with mineral notes and a long and persistent finish.
Other: The Verdelho vineyards were planted in the late 1990’s. The first vintage of this wine was produced in 2004 and it is currently the only mono-varietal white wine produced by the winery.
