Vineyard and Viticulture:
The vineyards are situated at 350m above sea level and are mainly schist soil and with vines that are an average age 20 years.
Bunches are hand picked, destemmed and crushed. Temperature controlled fermentation (24°-27°C) takes place in stainless steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation. The wine is filtered, and around 30% of the blend is then aged in oak for 12 months in new and 2/3 year old 225 litre French and American oak barrels.
Spicy red berry fruit aromas with notes of typical Douro plants - rockrose. The palate is balanced combining elegance and finesse, with body and structure, and a long, fresh finish.
