Vina Morande, Edicion Limitada, Sauvignon Blanc, Casablanca Valley

Variety: 100% Sauvignon Blanc

Vintage: 2104

Region: Casablanca Valley, Chile

Vineyard and Viticulture:

The grapes come from the El Ensueño vineyard in the Casablanca Valley. Its soils are clay - sand with low fertility and it has a cold, coastal climate. Clones 1 and 5 from Davis, California, are used. The former provides aromatic intensity and the latter, weight and structure.

Hand harvested grapes undergo low-temperature maceration to extract maximum aromas. The grapes are then pressed. The juice is then fermented in 2,000-litre wooden vats followed by ageing for 6 months.

Tasting Notes:

Primary aromas of honey and orange-blossom turn into elegant, lightly toasted notes of white fruits. Fresh and complex on the palate with some notes of grapefruit and honey. Its structure gives it great ageing potential.
