We often think of certain wine styles coming from specific countries or regions – well with this case we turn some of those ideas on their head:

It contains one bottle of each of the following:

  • Devils Corner Pinot Noir  also from Tasmania: this is a very fruit-driven style of Pinot, made from grapes sourced from a multitude of vineyard sites on the north and east of the island. Ripe morello cherry and strawberry notes combine with silky, soft tannins and a fresh, crisp finish. It’s featured in both Matthew Jukes’ and The Wine Merchant’s Top 100 Wines and scored 91 points in James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion 2018.
  • Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel Brut from South Africa: a sparkling wine made using the traditional methode known as Cap Classique in South Africa.  This elegant wine has a light golden hue, with fine persistent “mousse” and aromas of white peach, fresh apple and pear. On the palate, stone fruit flavours are beautifully complimented by hints of citrus and raspberries. Lively acidity and a crisp, dry finish contributes to an elegant Cap Classique.
  • Vicentin Blanc de Malbec from Argentina: yes, a white malbec!  A superb white wine made from Malbec grapes, where the grapes are gently pressed to avoid contact with the colour in the skins,  full of fragrant floral notes, mulberry fruit and strawberries, combined with aromas of cinnamon and cloves. A full bodied white with a lovely, long finish.
