Description
This Court Garden Ditchling White is a delicious blend of Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Ortega. Following good summer ripening the Chardonnay was barrel fermented in French oak adding a delicate hint of vanilla to this light medium bodied dry wine.
Grape blend is Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Ortega, a lesser known crossed grape which was named after Spanish poet and philosopher, José Ortega y Gasset. The combination has created a wine with aromas with notes of orchard fruits, lychee, succulent leesy notes and a touch of mineral smoke.
Greg Sherwood, a Master of Wine says: “First impressions are of an intense, aromatic, crisp, crunchy green fruited white full of brightness, limey zest, green Granny Smith apples, a touch of white peach and expressive, yellow grapefruit citrus depth. The longer it sits in the glass, the more it broadens and fleshes out. Beautiful clarity, crystalline purity, and impressive underlying stony, chalky minerality… Delicious”
Enjoy with grilled chicken, fish and seafood pasta dishes.
