Description
Supple fruit-driven with juicy raspberry flavours underpinned by slate and gravel notes and the sanguine bite that confirms its name as “the blood of the country”. ‘Lo Sang de Pais’ (‘blood of the soil’) is a very distinctive red made from 100% Mansois. With its bright acidity and fine-grained tannins, this is as versatile a food wine as some of the finest Beaujolais crus.
For four generations, until 1982, the Domaine du Cros had just one hectare of vineyard and produced about 4000 bottles a year .
Starting in 1982, the surface areas were increased . As well as buying and renting older vineyards, the family planted on hillsides, some of which have a slope of 60 or even 65 per cent .
In 1984, they created a father and son agricultural corporation on three hectares of vineyard, and constructed a wine storehouse.
From 1984 to 2012 more, older vineyards were added so they now have thirty hectares.
