Description
A concentrated, tightly-wound traditionally-styled Chablis of great minerality and length with muscular notes of lime, wet stone and richer hints of dried peach appearing with air. A fantastic wine that will age beautifully and shows the best Chablis can offer. Blanchots is the only Grand Cru Chablis the Domaine Gueguen produce. With flavours of almond and a biscuity, flintiness this has lemony / lime notes too.
“Blanchots” comes from “blanc” (“white”) which relates to the high concentration of limestone in the soils in the region. Limestone tends to produce wines that are taut and pure and this Chablis reflects exactly that. Sculpted, refined and polished with notable depth and length. Exactly what Grand Cru Chablis should be.
Born into families of winegrowers, Céline and Frédéric embarked on their own adventure in 2013. They created their Estate nestled in the heart of the Chablis vineyard. The 36 hectares of vines are mainly composed of Chardonnay grapes in the Burgundy and Chablis appellations. They also exploit the Sauvignon grape varieties for the AOC Saint-Bris and the Pinot noir with the Irancy. With a deep attachment to the roots of their families , they are building a new Estate with a wind of freedom. Céline and Frédéric, in turn, write a new page in the history of wine.Born into families of winegrowers, Céline and Frédéric embarked on their own adventure in 2013.
