Description
The dry Lapeyre is made from 100% Gros Manseng. Aromatic intensity is achieved by picking late (October) and using the lees to obtain colour and extract. This delightful number dances a brisk, citric tango on the palate. With a sharp mouth with a lot of freshness, fruitiness and a nice note of minerality on the finish. It is an expressive wine with an intense nose of citrus fruits, white fruit, green hazelnut… Frank, fruity; the tense, aromatic, balanced and persistent palate…. typical of the Gros Manseng grape cultivated at an altitude of 400 m!

Clos Lapeyre is situated in the Jurançon region of south west France, between Pau and Biarritz and was founded in 1920 by Jean Larrieu. Initially run as a strawberry farm, the estate is now run by Jean’s grandson, Jean-Bernard, who took over in 1985 and replanted the entire estate with vines. The 12 hectares of vines are cultivated strictly according to organic principles and face south towards the Pic-du-Midi, an aspect which provides a modicum of protection from strong winds and plenty of sunshine during the summer months. The Jurancon Sec is 100% Gros Manseng and is packed with green fruit aromas and flavours.
A delighful pale gold in colour with green flecks. Scents of mandarin, grapefruit and green orchard fruits. On the palate, fresh, crisp and round with a refreshing acidity. Great with grilled sardines, oysters in a Bordelaise sauce or oven baked John Dory.
