Description
This case offers a taste of some of Portugal’s great still wines: one bottle of each
Marques de Lara Vinho Verde: a classic easy drinking wine for the Summer, floral, citrussy with gentle tropical aromas, with sherbet lemon acidity, a touch of mango and a bright mineral finish. Delicious!
Marques de Lara Alvarinho: a little lighter than some Spanish Abarinos, this is floral, with peachy fruit on the nose follows through onto the palate. The wine has rounded mouthfeel, rich stone fruit and honeysuckle notes and a crisp finish.
Alianca Bairrada Reserva: a red with some spice and rich earthy notes. Intense berry aromas with spice and rich earthy notes. Vibrant plum and red cherry on the palate with savoury hints, grippy tannins, and finely poised acidity.
Alabastro Alentejano A fruity, spicy Portuguese red – generous, fresh and approachable, this wine comes from one of Portugal’s largest and most progressive producers with 600 hectares spread across estates in five regions from Douro in the north to Alentejo in the south. Winemaker Francisco Antunes oversees what must be one of the most diverse ranges in Europe.
Vinhas do Lasso Colheita Seleccionada Tinto: a bold blend of Portuguese grape varieties with rich, ripe fruit flavours of plum and blackberry, as well as hints of dark chocolate and smooth tannins.
Mouchao Dom Rafael White: This blend of Antão Vaz, Arinto, Perrum and Fernão Pires was fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks to preserve the fresh fruit characteristics. Zippy, limey, grapefruity this wine makes a perfect accompaniment to calamari or caprese salads.
