Description
This case contains one bottle of each of the following wines from the reknowned Dr Loosen estates:
Pinot Noir Rosé, Villa Wolf: The Pfalz is a very warm and sunny region, often called the “Tuscany of Germany,” so all of the Pinot varieties do well here including this one. The Villa Wolf Pinot Noir Rosé is a true rosé, made with a brief maceration before pressing to extract color. It is light and refreshing, with deliciously bright berry and fruit flavors and a clean, zippy finish. It’s perfect for holiday meals, especially when ham is involved.
Pinot Gris, Villa Wolf: a full-bodied, dry style with fresh, unoaked fruit and a crisp texture. This wine is finely fruity with a ripe grapefruit flavour and a nice spicy crackle from the acidity. It has fresh herb and floral notes. It is dry, elegant, medium-bodied and lifted on the palate, with a lovely, lingering finish.
Pinot Noir Villa Wolf a well balanced wine with lush cherry fruit and a light smoky note. Warm and medium-bodied, with a firm acid structure. Its dark cherry fruit is juicy, ripe and forward, with a spicy mid-palate. Twelve months of barrique aging gives the wine a smoky depth and a nice touch of earthy tannins.
Dr Loosen Estate Riesling, Mosel : With a fruity, off-dry with lime and apple fruit and a clean acidity. There is a floral element that suggests a fruity off dry character on the palate but this is then counterbalanced by brisk and clean acidity. The palate is bright lime and apple fruit and the acidity dries the finish and leaves a lingering freshness.
Gerwürtztraminer, Villa Wolf: Smells of fresh roses and exotic spice. This wine is clean, fruity and wonderfully light on its feet, showing off the aromatic charm of the variety without being heavy or ponderous. It has a deliciously juicy texture and a delightfully delicate aroma of spice and fresh roses.
Kabinett Riesling, Ürziger Würzgarten, Bernkastel: Ürziger Würzgarten produces wines of a completely unique nature. The wines are typically juicy with exotic fruit tastes of the “spice garden” vineyard, with a rich mouth feel, a spicy acid tingle and lingering finish. Kabinett is the lightest, most delicate style of Riesling in Germany, produced from the earliest harvested grapes.
