Description
The Free Run Juice Samurai Chardonnay is produced in the village of Angaston in South Australia. There is minimal intervention – vegan-friendly – natural winemaking techniques use some of the best small vineyards in South Australia to make interesting wines with depth. FRJ has the facilities to produce a small quantity or large, ongoing volumes of premium wines from all of Australia’s wine-growing regions.
As part of the Yalumba Wine Company, Australia’s oldest family-owned winery, FRJ has direct access to its winemaking skills and acclaimed technical services. Free Run Juice has access to growers in all wine-growing regions and is able to secure varietals to satisfy all requirements from value “quaffers” to outstanding premiums. The reliable and ongoing supply and consistent quality are important to you.
Soil types are varied and include limestone-marl based soils of the Adelaide and Riverland areas, and the sandy, clay loam-based soils of the Barossa. During the ripening period from the end of January and through into March, the weather was warm and dry. These ideal conditions allowed the vines to flourish and finish ripening their Chardonnay grapes with delicious richness and intensity. Winemaking is focused on minimal intervention to give the Chardonnay depth, complexity and personality.
The FRJ Chardonnay is clean, fresh & fruity, and unlike many Australian wines at this price, possesses juicy and balanced acidity. Notes of white peach and hints of cream ensure this is a wine for spring/summer sipping.
