Bodegas Franco-Españolas was founded in 1890 as a partnership between France and Spain at a critical moment in Rioja, when the French came to the region in an attempt to replace their vineyards devastated by the wine blight, phylloxera. Today, after more than 125 years, they are still here, and still a great Rioja.
Wines from this winery have been served to Kings and Queens: the guests at the coronation of King Alfonso of Spain drank Bordon wines and they were also served at the wedding of Queen Fabiola of Belgium.
Situated close to the town of Logrono, Bodegas Franco-Españolas is in the heart of Rioja.
