Description
This Meursault has delicious brioche flavours, with almond hints, a rich, buttery white wine, but with a light lemony and pear tint. Quintessentially Meursault in style, this opens with a fresh delineated nose of toasted brioche, candied lemon peel and pear. Lovely balance and freshness.
Great with hard and blue cheeses (yes, really!), fish and shellfish as well as dishes with white sauces.
Buisson-Charles is a brilliant producer in Meursault and under the radar perhaps in light of some of their exalted neighbours. Fourth generation, Catherine Buisson-Essa and her husband Patrick Essa, who is also the winemaker, hold the reigns. Analytical, philosophical and intuitive, Patrick meticulously vinifies each wine for it to express its greatest attributes. Les Tessons is one of the more known “village” level wines whose soil imparts a notable minerality but also flesh and viscosity to its wines.
Starting with the 2009 vintage, winemaker Patrick Essa and his wife Catherine Buisson officially took control of the domaine, following the retirement of her father Michel (though Monsieur Buisson is still active in the vineyards and cellar as he nears 80. In fact it is Michel who most likely prepared your wines for shipment). His 55+ years of experience and wisdom infuse every drop of wine that flows through this fabulous cellar.
