Food Pairing : Just for fun at parties; girls’ night in; enjoy with nuts and nibbles, or mixed starters such as vegetable tempura.
More info : Italy produces lots of fizz, not all of it Prosecco. And as Prosecco has rocketed in demand, the price has followed suit. This wine is a great option as an alternative. Produced in the Treviso region of North East Italy, this wine is made from a blend of various hand-picked white grapes grown in the vineyards of Rai di San Polo di Piave. Second fermentation takes place in tank, and the wine is aged for 30 days before release.
Winery : Established in 1931 and still owned and run by the Cecchetto family, this is a modern winery in San Polo di Piave, right in the heart of the rolling hills of the province of Treviso. The mild climate, with hot summer days and cool nights, along with the well-drained clay and limestone soils, make this area ideal for the production of both still and sparkling wines. Current manager, third generation Simone Cecchetto, follows the traditions set by his father and grandfather, but has continued to modernise the winery to keep pace with current developments in winemaking and viticulture.
